So I looked at my phone today,(was working fine half and hour before) and all i get is this black screen. No sudden movements, no drops etc just sitting in my pocket

I can receive calls and texts just can't actually see anything.  And when i press the unlock key the screen the backlight lights up like normal just no on screen display :S
I have removed sim battery etc pushed all random buttons turned off and on etc, nothing
Is this totally screwed?
Can't

Also on contract phone stuff, this was a 24 month contract and I'm only 11 months through it, will they replace it or will the shit hit the fan when i attempt to blag myself another phone. I took insurance off,( cost an extra 6 quid per month, i know im cheap) but that covers like dropping in water and getting stolen, not sure about just malfunctioning etc.

I did drop it within the FIRST WEEK of getting it and it has a hefty crack across the screen ever since, touch screen still working etc, just didn't fork out the 30 quid for a new screen as performance wasn't hindered, will this cause problems when I go back to them?

Cheers Iain

Pretty difficult to say without knowing what the phone is...

It should still be under warranty after 11 months though but they'll kick up a fuss about the screen.

If it's got a cracked screen you don't stand a chance of getting anything sorted on the warranty.

What phone is it?

It's a samsung blade, and i could potentionally get the screen fixed elsewhere for like 20 quid if it meant being able to get a new phone.

Why won't i stand a chance with the warranty just from a cracked screen out of interest?

They look at a phone with a cracked screen and 'know' it's been abused, basically. It'd take a whole load of similarly-cracked screens from the same model for the manufacturer to consider warranteeing them.

Also, replacing the screen will likely involve removing stickers or cracking threadlock that protects the warranty.
