Reet. My hack bike got nicked just before christmas, and I managed to get £300 off the insurance peeps. Out of that, I need to replace my bike light mounts (which I'd bought new a week before, bastards) which'll be around £20, lid, another £20, which leaves £260. Using that, I'd like to get another bike.
I'd like a hardtail that will do xc, but is strong enough to thrash around a bit. The only full bikes I've found for that money are, frankly, shit, so I could either get a 2nd hand hardtail, or get a frame that I can swap stuff over to... thing is, I've got 170mm forks, and fairly wide wheels/tyres, so I'm struggling to find any frames that'll take that without snapping. Ideally, I'd get frame/headset/crankset/front mech/shifter for £260, that can take standard qr rear wheel, 2.5" tyres, and 160ish mm fork.... any ideas? Or am I just best off getting a whole bike?

If we could forget about that sticker for a minute, which let’s be honest, even if it had a picture of Sam Hill flying a Monster fuelled F-16 through gaping vagina won’t not going to make any difference to the performance.

By doing what exactly? Having an opinion?
No, by swearing at everyone and calling them paedophiles.

Wow this place is dead these days.
On topic, Any hardtail with 160-170mm forks is either going to have a ludicrously slack head angle normally or have a scarily sharpening angle when braking or going over anything.
